It has been a busy year here in Keswick with all the events that have taken place, culminating in the Tour of Britain. It was great that it was in the Keswick area on two consecutive days.
We still have a few events to run in Keswick before the end of the year:
Sunday 4th November is for the energetic of you. It is the date of the Derwentwater 10. A 10 mile run around Derwentwater on the roads, starting in Keswick.
Friday 23rd November is when the Keswick Christmas Lights are being switched on. Market Square has all the action during the build up to the switch on. I don’t know who will be throwing the switch this year but when we find out we will let you know. The Christmas lights have been really good over the last 2 years and we will probably have a good display this year.
1st - 24th December. Keswick Tourism Association, supported by Allerdale Borough Council bring you the Keswick Live Advent, now in its fifth year. A festive themed window is illuminated in a business each day around Keswick from the 1st to the 24th, accompanied by a programme featuring a combination of pop-up and annual favourite events. The illuminated windows stay lit until early January, forming a magical and festive window trail around town which visitors and residents can follow and enjoy.
The Keswick Victorian Fayre will take place on Sunday 2nd December 2018, 10.30am - 4pm, which has free live entertainment on stage in the Market Place and Packhorse Court, including bands, choirs, Morris Dancers and more. There will be over 30 charity stalls, selling a selection of Christmas homemade crafts, produce, festive food and drink. The Fayre offers the opportunity for local charities and good causes to raise money and their profile.
